Chaos – Rest in Peace

12 01 2011

Chaos came to us in the fall of 1993, as we moved into our first home.

Chaos has weathered many a storm during his life, and now, 18 years later, has passed on to the great kitty cat-stand in the sky…  In the end, he had been knocked down by renal failure and diabetes.  His last day was on Monday.

Here are some pictures to remember his better times, most taken when digital cameras were brand new.

These pictures are how I prefer to remember him.

Goodbye, my little “cinderblock of love”….

Just call us crazy cat people….

Hubby’s coworker’s wife found a baby kitten at work one day, and as they were strictly a doggie household, the baby has ended up with us.

He is about 5 weeks old now, and has been named Cheshire.

The vet told us to give him a couple weeks before we vaccinate the little boy.

He still misses his mama, and seems to have an oral fixation on a fleece blanket.  Gus has taken to him and plays well with him, so he has a pal.

Awesome photos, from an 11 year old……

Gus-Gus…

The girlie went to run a 5K in town and we ended up bringing home a new little guy….

This is Gus.

He’s been here since Monday morning, as is getting along nicely with the other felines in the house:

He is about 7 weeks old, and he is coming along nicely.  The vet gave him a clean bill of health.

Expect more pictures of him soon….

No words – keeping my eye on you…….

the card preview…

22 11 2009

Here are the pic’s that Glitter Glue Princess and I selected for the holiday cards – they are currently in queue at moo.com.

This was the photo selected for the backs of the cards – more what he looks like when totally crazed.  This was the kiddo’s favorite photo, but not very appropriate for a holiday card, in my mind, except maybe halloween or day of the dead.

Herding cats is hard!

20 11 2009

Tried to get the little black monster to pose for a christmas card photo.

Yeah….   Right…..

The demon was too distracted by my two prop assistants that he always turned his head away when I had what I thought was a good shot.  Took twenty shots, got one good one.

I think I’ll try this again in the morning, when the house is quiet, and noone else is around.  The girls had distracted him, so he was coming down off a catnip high while the shots were being taken.

….This was worse than trying to get cute baby shots.

A morning ritual… Now with more kitten-y goodness!

7 11 2009

We will resume halloween photos after hubby gets some stills from the video he made.

In the meantime…  Allow me to show you how a kitten will change your morning ritual!

First, you must now dry the seat or you will be in for a great big shock!

You must also close the all night buffet that kitten took upon himself to open.

And if the water from the toilet wasn’t enough, you should always check your shower for exciting changes!

Our suspect is usually found in various hiding places, such as seen below:

…You’d think we starve this fella.

…”Feet are food, not friends!”

“Hey!  Who put the drain back together?!?!?!”
